12" vinyl pressing on regular weight black vinyl, with 147gsm premium printed inner lyric sleeve, comes wrapped in see-through polyfilm. You get to download the album immediately. Due to Covid-19 affecting our cashflow, we now don't have enough money to press the record up without asking people for pre-orders, so you'll have to trust us! Once we reach enough pre-orders to complete the cost of pressing, we will send the record to be pressed, and once we have the records in our hands from the plant, we will ship to everyone who has ordered. Stay tuned for updates on lead times - the sooner we hit the pre-order target, the sooner we can send them to be pressed! The plant currently think we'll get the records back around the second week in June, but this is a fluid situation and we appreciate your support and understanding in this weird old time! xxxxx

Track Name: Don't Come Home (With Blood On Your Hands And Expect Me To Want The Truth)
'cause I don't wanna go that way
even if the trains are late
even if the roads are safe
I don't wanna go that way

'cause I don't wanna go that way
even with the options weighed
even if the seams have frayed
I don't wanna go that way

the reaper's fingers in the till
said “have you paid your bills?”
said “I was never asking for your life,
I was only asking for your time, this time,
this time”

so don't come home with blood on your hands
and expect me to want the truth
and don't come home with blood on your hands
and expect me to want the truth

'cause I don't wanna go that way
even if the game is played,
even if your temper strays
I don't wanna go that way

there were bodies in the attic
there were bodies in the floor
there were bodies in the ceilings and the doors
there were bodies in the garage
there were bodies in the car
there were bodies in the silence and the dark
Track Name: Pictures Of You
forgive me dear,
for all I see is you

pictures of you
in all your glory
pictures of you
that stole my heart
pictures of you
in every doorway
pictures that settle
every thought

I am breathless I can take no more
I've been waiting in this place too long
I will spill the truth my love
It's yours
I have memories I've saved for you
I could save another day or two
while you show me round this crystal sky
so blue

forgive me dear for all I see is you
(pictures of you in all your glory)
you should lead the way and pull me through

flutters like the start
it's like this young girl's retaken my heart
Track Name: Watching The Worlds Collide
you got it wrong
there never was a piece of the pie
there was a song
I wrote for you while I was inside
and before you and me and baby
I go back each night
for the light show
watching the worlds collide,
satellite radio
watching the fires light

there was a word
and no-one had to say it at all
there was a bird
and someone had to teach it to talk

and before you and me and baby
I go back each night
for the light show
watching the worlds collide,
satellite radio
watching the fires fight
satellite radio
you got it wrong

and before you and me and baby
I go back each night
for the light show
watching the worlds collide,
satellite radio
watching the fires die
satellite radio
Track Name: Dig
if you've ever
failed to set the room on fire
lend me your ears,
'cause I've had twenty-seven years
of kicking cans down the road,
digging holes and fitting moulds

tonight I feel like breaking habits kept for years

I'm into the dig,
you're off like a finch
we'll meet on the level
often it is said
off the top of my head
advocating the devil

if you've ever helplessly tried
make it the last time you took the hard line

if you ever
swap your hat it'll be alright
the one that fits
won't always come in black and white
dug a hole 'cause you couldn't wait
put another one on the slate

tonight I feel like it could never be too late

all of that bait
dressed up like bait
needn't wait
any more
Track Name: Morning Shakes
there is no side of my consciousness that you have never seen
from the spice heads in the market to the morning shakes and somewhere in between

and when I met you
you were minimal in weight
you just floated on the surface on your own tectonic plate

they call you paracetamol
they call you co co codamol
they call you soluble ampheta-hope I make you better-mine

she wants you to follow her in to the fray
she forgets her purse but you’re willing to pay
you play the disciple and she plays the joker
you’re endlessly patient
you’re there when she wants to be sober

she only wants to be with boys like that
and you don’t wanna be with girls like that

she tells a tale of betrayal
but the story isn’t true
still I relinquish my religion
I choose to believe in you

they call you paracetamol
they call you co co codamol
they call you soluble ampheta-hope I make you better-mine

you offer her something she’s not had before
you feel like she’s willing to let you be more
you grab her and tell her you’ll always be there
you’re starting to get somewhere
then she’s changing her tune
says she feels like she’s wearing a noose around you
then you watch her recline to the scourge on the name of this town
you’re waiting for her to come down

and we run from the cops as they’re pushing the spice heads over
but they came to the house and section her in her pyjamas
she's convinced there’s no problem until they cut off her resources
now they poke with a stick as she rattles around the asylum

where your story isn’t true
I choose to believe in you
Track Name: Opening Up
she's going round in circles
you'll never break scene
she's another diversion
a woman who gets what she needs
presents the cup, she's filling it up
now she's opening up, woo-oh
she's so in love with you
by the time you could call her bluff
she was spinning a yarn round the sequel
you were in love with her but it's not enough
Track Name: Wait
wait, wait
wait until you play the heartsrings
wait, wait
wait until you snap the shoestring
wait a little longer, talk to me
put another ring on the old oak tree
wait, wait
for me

you dropped my porcelain heart
and keep me in the dark
in a state
then you told me that it's late
in these four walls that I hate
so I guess we'll call it straight,
I'll always wait
Track Name: Laundry
written in the peeling of the paint
twenty-seven years I will retain
damaged where I held you like a saint

mother up and slammed the door
now our house ain't a home no more
it's a place we hang our laundry out to dry
a wind picked up and blew the nest
and no-one knows what happens next
the dispelling is a'swelling in the sky
in a place we hang our laundry out to dry

money weren't enough to sway her heart
though she took it and she drank it by the cart
the mediator said that was the start

mother up and slammed the door
now our house ain't a home no more
it's a place we hang our laundry out to dry
the papers in my father's desk
say change is coming soon I guess
there's a failed attempt for every time you try
in a place we hang our laundry out to dry

mother up and slammed the door
now our house ain't a home no more
it's a place we hang our laundry out to dry
there's room for you inside the bed
but you learned to sleep alone instead
there's a caustic and begrudging last goodbye
the dispelling is a'swelling in the sky
in a place we hang our laundry out to dry
Track Name: When I Ran Ahead
I can't think back
to a time when you weren't there
when I cared about her

and it's always a sad thought
every time I tie my shoe
don't think I've ever taken a step
without her

when I ran ahead
you stayed put
I looked back, you said
“no, it's too late”

there was a fork in the trail
and I had to chase her tail
I couldn't imagine a day
without her

and I can't explain what she does
but she's sweet and she needs my love
and I care about her

and I care about her
and the moments that I am
without her
are all queueing up and looking to find
their way
Track Name: On The Lash
you saw hickory smoke from your partner's mouth
this is where her heart burned out
she took your clothes and she took your cash
drink her down till the colours clash
on the lash

we got collared outside by a man with a flask
who had tar on his tongue and a favour to ask
I said “I have no change, it's for your own good -
you'd only spend it on what I would”
we'll sniff your coke and smoke your stash
on the lash

this is where we toast the cenotaph
this is where cold water fills the bath
on the lash

your brothers blood on your disco feet
this is where our demons eat
being sick in the bathroom bin
laughing, better out than in
the beat of the city is a drunken thud
the earth is moving where you're stood
on the lash

this is where we toast the cenotaph
this is where cold water fills the bath
on the lash
Track Name: Poppy On Your First Trip Home
I don't need to be a hero
I'm just happy to be all you know
and the roads are getting vicious
so I'm wrapping you in cotton wool

every last time I could see you
was the last time I could feel love

Poppy on your first trip home
I never drove so slow
Poppy on your first trip home

your momma's looking sleepy in the mirror
but she's watching you
like she owes someone a million
and I wonder who I owe mine to

every last time I could see you
was the last time I could feel love

all there is to say is that no-one feels the same as I do
with you in the back, who am indebted to?
